Larry Hide Haru Iwamoto, beloved husband of Lynne Iwamoto, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on March 6, 2019.
Larry was born in Lethbridge on November 1, 1951. After completing school in Picture Butte, Alberta, Larry moved to Prince George and Summerland, British Columbia, where he became an auto mechanic in a business owned by his aunt and uncle.
It was in Summerland in 1988 that he met the love of his life, Lynne. Together, they raised their two sons Nik and Casey. The family spent many happy years there, mountain biking, hiking, camping – and especially fly fishing – Larry’s second true love.
In 1999, Larry and Lynne moved their family to Pincher Creek, Alberta, where Larry took a position with Westcastle Motors.
Larry is predeceased by his parents Masayoshi and Hisako, and his brother Rob. He will be missed by his loving wife Lynne, sons Nik and Casey (Hayley), and grandchildren Julie, Emily, Rylee, Ayden, Bryer and Anyah. He will also be missed by his kitty Cali, who was so therapeutic for him for the past five years.
Larry is also survived by one brother – Dean, and sisters Joy (Kim) Hanson, Wendy (Henry) Van Nistelrooy and their families.
As per Larry’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers or Koden, those who wish may make donations to the Pincher Creek Food Bank, P.O. Box 2993, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0 or the Pincher Creek Humane Society/SPCA, P.O. Box 2647, Pincher Creek, AB, T0K 1W0.
