WILLIAM ALFRED JOHNSON, lovingly known as Bill, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully with his wife Rose Johnson by his side, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the age of 91 years.
Always the striking image of the cowboy in black, Bill had a lifelong passion for Johnny Cash, horses and especially Chinese food.
Bill lived his entire life in Lethbridge and was well known throughout the community, most notably as the owner/operator of Johnson Disposal.
Bill is also survived by his four loving daughters, Sherry (Don) of Beaumont, Roxanne (Rod) of Vernon, Jacky (Alan) of Calgary and Jody (Doug) of Calgary. Bill leaves behind eight grandchildren, Sascha, Brittany, Zac, Sam, McKenzie, Hunter, Taylor and Justin along with three great-grandchildren Ava, Miya and Duke as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives in England.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Dora and Sidney Johnson, all of his brothers Ron, Frank, Bob, George, Joey and both sisters Lily and Doreen.
A Graveside Service will be held on ST. PATRICK’S CEMETERY, 525 – 6 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. with Father Kevin Tumback officiating.
A celebration of life will be held later in the summer, details to follow.
Bill’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to family and friends that have offered their loving support and assistance through this very difficult time.
Dearest dad, husband, grandfather and great grandfather, you will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
