TEODOR KUZMINSKI, beloved husband of Yanina Kuzminski, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, March 26th, 2019 at the age of 88 years.
Besides his loving wife Yanina, married 63 years, he is survived by his daughter Helena (Mark) and Ted Jr. (Tina), his three grandchildren Fayla (Cam), Jacek and Romney (Tony); and predeceased by his daughter Marie, son Michael (Kristin), and Teodor’s sister Helen (Jack) but survived by his nieces Jeanette (Keith) and Christine (Ian).
Teodor was strong willed and determined to provide for his then small family of females immigrating to Canada with the aid of his sister, Helen (Jack) who helped base his home in Lethbridge. In 1959 he moved from Vilnus, Poland to Lethbridge, quickly learning the English language and continued his job as chief engineer. He established himself at St. Michael’s Hospital then later, Canadian Linen Supplies up to his retirement.
Teodor will always be remembered as “Uncle Teddy” at Canadian Linen for he showed a strong, burley exterior but in reality showed a compassionate heart…soft as a teddy bear.
For many summers, Teodor loved to drive the family motor home to the West Coast visiting his children Mike (Kristin) and Marie, then more recently to Minneapolis, visiting his youngest son Ted Jr. (Tina).
One of Teodor’s many passions was feeding and rescuing injured birds back to health. He loved televised hockey games, watching war movies, fishing with his sons in their younger years, swimming in their backyard pool and traveling to Europe, visiting distant family. He will be remembered for his funny sense of humor and the ability to make everyone laugh while both he and Janina loved hosting bbq’s in their manicured back yard with their many friends.
Teodor was also a very sensitive man and you would occasionally catch him teary eyed over matters of the heart as he always wanted to help with family circumstances, no matter the situation. He was the best father one could ever ask for.
Teodor will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved him.
