This month’s Market Report will be a bit different than any other that has been done in the past. As the real estate market was off to an amazing start, we were all impacted by the onset of COVID-19 during the beginning of the month. Of course, we are like everyone else, and began listening to our Chief Medical Health Officer as she explained what was happening and what we, the public, should do to help stop the spread of this very dangerous virus. We immediately began to take measures that would see us reduce the contact in our day to day business and also to ensure we had protocols in place to keep clients, realtors and staff as safe as possible. Fast forward to today and we are in a province-wide “new normal”, with many restrictions in place and only businesses that are deemed to be essential operating.

Real Estate has been deemed an essential service, and with that comes a great responsibility. Sometimes real estate is not a choice but a necessity for buyers and sellers, and they will be in need of service. Our industry really has come together to ensure that we are all practicing with a high level of care, while still understanding the needs of clients. We have begun to see the market slow up a little due to the uncertainty and circumstances related to COVID-19, however there is still some activity as needs are different from client to client.
