AMINOLLAH MIRZA AGHA, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Keshvar Shamsialiakhoundianari, passed away at home on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the age of 94 years.
Aminollah was born on March 21, 1932, in Shahr-e-Ray, Tehran, Iran, the second of nine siblings. From an early age, he developed a love for gardening, learning it from his beloved father, Hasan, who was a farmer in Iran. He became known for his remarkable green thumb, finding joy and peace in nurturing plants throughout his life.
He worked as an army clerk and retired prior to the 1978 revolution in Iran. As a devoted member of the Baha’i faith, Aminollah faced significant hardship; following the revolution, he was imprisoned because of his faith. Despite this, he remained steadfast and never denied his beliefs. He was also denied his pension due to religious discrimination. Demonstrating resilience and determination, he went on to work as a distributor for the Mana Pasta Company in Iran.
When his daughter was denied access to higher education because of her faith, Aminollah made the difficult decision to leave his homeland in search of a better future for his family. They became refugees in Turkey, where they spent 14 and a half months before resettling in Canada.
In August 2011, Aminollah moved to Lethbridge with his beloved wife, Keshvar, and his daughter, Dr. Behroo Mirza Agha. There, he was joyfully reunited with his brother Parviz and his family after over 20 years. He also took great pride in seeing his daughter pursue higher education and ultimately earn her PhD at the University of Lethbridge.
Aminollah was a deeply devoted member of the Baha’i faith and lived a life marked by courage, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to his beliefs, as well as profound love for his family.
Aminollah will be laid to rest at the Royal View cemetery in Lethbridge on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.
