MARION GERTRUDE MARTHA NIELSEN (née Zubach), beloved wife of the late Bjorn Nielsen of Lethbridge, was born in Coalhurst on November 11, 1933 and passed away peacefully at Fairmont Extendicare on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the age of 85 years.

Marion is the loving mother of Susan (Stuart) Dickson of Kelowna, B.C. and Barbara Jane Tutt (Rob Proudfoot) of Christina Lake, B.C., daughter-in-law Janet Tutt, as well as grandchildren Evan (Chantelle) Worden, Taylor (Marlee) Worden, Andrew and Jason Tutt, and Jordan Tutt; and six great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Charlotte, Aveah, Cove, Shia and Koda. She is also survived by her sister Frances (Walter) Boras, brother Raymond (Margaret) Zubach and sister-in-law Helen Zubach.

Besides her husband Bjorn, Marion was predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Zubach, brother John Zubach, sons Alden and Bruce Tutt, grandson Bobby Gillis and many other southern Alberta “family pioneers”.

Marion was a special part of her families lives. Loved by her children nieces and nephews, she kept them in her heart and prayers. She was an avid “Journaler” who loved being “crafty”; gardening, traveling, attending many family gatherings, celebrations and her nursing reunions. Care giving came naturally to her and that’s why her nursing career meant so much to her. Mom, Gramma, Auntie and Friend, Marion will be dearly missed and remembered as a quiet, gentle soul. We thank everyone who had a part in caring for her and treating her with kindness and respect. Fairmont Extendicare staff, we thank you and especially her friend dear Connie Viau.
