Henderson 1924-2018
It’s with profound sadness the family of Barbara Henderson nee Kambeitz announce her passing in Pincher Creek on February 5, 2018 at the age of 93. Barbara’s 3 daughters were at her side when she passed.
Barbara was a kind, caring person who embodied both wit and charm. She will be sorely missed by many. Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Henderson of Lethbridge Alberta, by her parents, Jacob and Margaret Kambeitz and by her 3 siblings, Mary (Elmer) Raber, Magdelena (Bolcer) Ell and Whendlean Kambeitz. She is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Margaret (John) O’Donovan, Nelly (Eric) Large and Barbara Lloyd (Donny Lambrecht), her sister in law, Dorothy Kambeitz, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born on the family farm near Grassy Lake, Alberta on November 13, 1924. In her younger years she worked hard on that farm. Following World War II, she met her future husband while they were both working in Taber. They were married on October 18, 1947. In her younger years Barbara enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with her family. In later years, her interests were knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles, playing card games and, as always, spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations can be made to one of the following:
