He also leaves to cherish his memory their seven children and fourteen grandchildren: Jennifer Huber of Calgary, AB and her children Rose, Shaunte (Dillon), Savanna and Christopher; Craig (Vickie) Pulsifer of Lethbridge, AB and their children Kavan (Chey), Colton (Claire) and Ryann; Trish Huber of Elkford, BC and her sons Jay (Trinity) and Tristin; Lisa (Chris) Martin of Amherst, NS and their daughter Owyn; James Huber of Crowsnest Pass, AB and his daughter Percy-Jean; Nikki (Mike) Porter of Amherst, NS and their daughter Blake; Cortney (Jens) Corliss of Lethbridge, AB and their children Oliver and Freya; ten great-grandchildren: Kallie, Evander, Kyler, Wylder, River, Junior, Sage, Summer, Austin and Cecelia; brothers: Bob (Sharon) Pulsifer of Halifax, NS and Dan (Judy) Pulsifer of Dartmouth, NS; sister Jeanie (John) Guttridge of Mono, ON; sisters-in-law: Yola Pulsifer of Ancaster, ON, Marcie (Jay) Eagleson of Marshall, SK and Mindy Prunkle of Milk River, AB; brother-in-law Mike (Phyllis) Krause of St. Charles, Missouri; “adopted family”: Michael Robinson of Ottawa, ON, Ashley of Edmonton, AB and Karsyn of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends including his long-time friends from school.
Mike was predeceased by his parents William & Frances (Tully) Pulsifer, in-laws Jim & Jean Krause, brother Bill Pulsifer, sister Peggy MacDonald, brother-in-law Danny MacDonald, and granddaughter Samantha Meier.
Mike made his home in many places throughout Nova Scotia, Ontario & Alberta during his life and held a wide variety of careers ranging from his first job at Save-Easy grocery store to different banks (ATB the longest) to driving taxi and 18 wheelers and finally as the CAO at Ridge Country Housing from where he retired from at the end of 2019. Mike cared deeply about the staff and residents there and his motto was “Never do anything halfway”.
From a young age, Mike discovered his love of vehicles and driving. He would “borrow” his brothers’ cars and eventually got a powder blue ’68 Volkswagen to call his own before becoming an avid Camaro fan later in life. Mike married his best friend, Michelle, on June 29, 1996. His love of driving lead him on many adventures and road trips across North America with Michelle by his side visiting friends and family and making wonderful memories. Their favorite stops along the way were historical sites, lighthouses and seafood restaurants. They visited cemeteries and library archives searching for their ancestors; they camped on beaches, slept under the stars, watched comets and danced under the full moon.
Mike’s hobbies included music, hiking, carpentry, electronics, car shows, and he collected ball caps, pens, paper clips and anything from the Maritimes. Mike loved his country and he always called Nova Scotia “home”.
Mike was happiest when surrounded by the kids – Mike said that he won the lottery with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they brought so much joy and pride to his life.
Mike was loyal, trustworthy and had a quiet strength about him that he carried into his recent battle with cancer; he fought with dignity, strength and sometimes humor. Mike was encouraged by the prayers, love and support of family and friends; he was thankful for the incredible compassion and care from his health care team and Mike was grateful every day for our Lord and Savior who gave him strength, peace, hope and unconditional love.
A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held at THE MIZ CITY CHURCH, 502 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Daniel Zopoula †† officiating, with the Interment to follow at Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Nova Scotia.
