LILLIAN “LILL” JOAN SALOMONS passed away in her home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the age of 66 years.
She is survived by her son, Craig (Makayla); her mother, Helen; brothers, Tom (Cheryl) and Ken (Bobbi Rae); sisters, Rose (Michael) and Linda (Ian), as well as too many nieces and nephews that she cherished beyond belief.
She was predeceased by her partner, Bob Marek; father, Peter; and brother, Gord.
Lill grew up a farm girl with her brothers and sisters in Coaldale and the area, always wanting to jump through mud puddles and tear a dress on a fence running around when she wasn’t supposed to. Meeting her first love, Harry, in school and quickly becoming a tight-knit group with her friends, they would spend time travelling, skiing, camping, or having some legendary pig roasts at the farm.
She spent her adult years in banking and admin, with a keen eye for detail and always wanting to help her customers and co-workers. A loving mother to Craig, and aunt to a countless number of nieces, nephews, and family friends’ children that she considered family, her enduring love for children and family was ever apparent.
Later in life, she met Bob, who she would spend time travelling to Vancouver Island with, riding on the back of the motorcycle, or walking through a car show.
Lill had a wonderful eye for making her surroundings beautiful. Her home and backyard were her canvas, either redoing a garden from scratch or painting all of the walls. She loved her quiet moments in her backyard, or sometimes not so quiet, with Bon Jovi blasting at full volume for all the neighbourhood to hear.
When she was indoors, you would always find her with her loving cat, Misha, cheering on her favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens, much to her family’s disappointment, always sure to be wearing her jersey and hat.
Lill was an amazing source of love and joy that will be missed beyond measure. The world’s best mom, a loving partner, a loyal friend, Lill was truly one of a kind, whose impact will continue to be felt by all who remember her.
