March 26, 1946 – September 22, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of BARBARA ANNE SEYMOUR (née Wilson), of Taber, Alberta, on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026, at the age of 80.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 60 yrs, Arthur Lowell Seymour, and her two children, Robert Dean Seymour of Lethbridge, Alberta and Melinda Anne Seymour of Taber, Alberta. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, David, Thomas and Natasha and her great-granddaughter, Kari.

Barbara studied at the University of British Columbia in the mid-1960s and married Lowell in 1966. Throughout her life, her family was always at the heart of everything she did. She devoted many years to being a homemaker and mother, while also taking on temporary administrative assistant positions when she was able to.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Barbara owned and operated her own beauty salon. She later taught a life skills class at the local minimum-security jail and eventually finished her working years as a teacher’s aide.

In retirement, Barbara continued to stay active in her community by volunteering at the Taber Legion. She was also a proud grandmother who took an active and loving role in the lives of her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Her family meant a great deal to her and she treasured the time she was able to spend with them.

Barbara enjoyed many hobbies and interests throughout her life. She was a good bowler and enjoyed macrame, knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader. These were some of the simple things that brought her happiness throughout the years.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She gave much of herself to her family and those around her and she will be remembered with love by the many people whose lives she touched.

Our Mother will be profoundly missed. We will carry her memory with us and be grateful for all the years, memories and love she gave us.

A Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held upstairs at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH #20, 5205 – 48 Avenue, Taber, AB, on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 3:00 P.M.
