MRS. JOAN LILLIAN SLAVICH, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Matt Slavich, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre Long Term Care, on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 96 years.

Joan is survived by her son Michael (Beatrice) Slavich, daughter Susan (Barry) Sarazin, and four grandchildren: Jennifer (Chris) Laing, Robert (Tara) Slavich, Christopher (Cheryl) Sarazin, and Michael Sarazin; six great-grandchildren: Tyler Sarazin, Andrea Laing, Isabelle Laing, Nathan Laing, Paige Slavich, and Kayla Slavich; as well as nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides her husband Matt, Joan was predeceased by her parents Henry and Phylis Ford, two brothers: Harry, William; and her two sisters: Jessie and Sis.

Joan was born in London, England, and was a War Bride who came to Lethbridge after WWII. In addition to her homemaking skills, Joan was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed China painting and Pysansky (Ukrainian Easter egg painting).

A private Family service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
