MICHAEL WALTER STOLTE, of Lethbridge, passed away from a sudden heart attack at home on Friday, October 4th, 2019 at the age of 56 years.
Michael is survived by his mother Betty & father Fred, sons Justin Freedom and Philip Hadford, brothers Mark (Sandra), Myron (Shannon) and Jason (Tabitha); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Michael was born in Lethbridge and completed his high school in Stirling. After high school, Michael worked in the cattle industry on various ranches and feedlots in southern Alberta. Michael then went to work in the oil patch as a roughneck and eventually worked his way up to driller for both Precision Drilling and Wilson Drilling.
When not working, Michael enjoyed riding his Harley and making deposits in the memory bank.
A stroke in December of 2013 prevented Michael from returning to full-time work; however, he kept busy doing odd jobs around his apartment complex, helping his friends and “pestering” his mother.
Michael will be laid to rest with his maternal grandparents in Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, during a private ceremony. Family & friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 A.M.
In memory of Michael, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & NU, 200-119 14 Street NW., Calgary, Alberta, T2N 1Z6, or to a charity of your choice.
