Taylor, Jean Isabell "Peggy"
Posted Aug 2, 2018 | 9:31 PM
Born in 1934, Jean Isabell “Peggy” Taylor (MacArthur) was raised on the family ranch near Walsh, Ab. Along with big brothers Alistair and Huey, ranch life taught her the value of hard work, commitment and discipline.
In 1955, as a young AGT operator she met a persistent CPR agent, William “Bill” Taylor, and after a 2 year courtship spent 61 years together as a great team: raising a family, operating numerous businesses and supporting each other throughout.
Peggy was also a very successful Copper Craft consultant, motivating a team of up to 26 and earning a company trip to Germany. She wrapped up her work life at Woolco.
The pride of her existence, children Dennis and Debbie, fondly remember Mom’s years of driving to arenas, adventurous new recipes, homemade treats for the drive-in theater and MacArthur Ranch Christmases. In no uncertain terms her children and family came first!
For 18 years, she travelled annually to Australia to be with Debbie and her grandchildren Kristy, Cassidy and Bryce, making many Aussie friends and being a cool Grandy.
When they all moved back to Canada, she added Cole as a grandchild and spent her senior years loving her family and walking pets Johnny and Stella around Gyro Park. Throughout her years she enjoyed a good round of golf, a chat over coffee and matched outfits with a splash of pink.
There will be a Celebration of Peggy’s Life arranged for a later date. She’ll be missed by all, but especially by Bill.
