ERVIN PAUL TOPOLEWSKI, age 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his son, Jacob, and his beloved companion, Jane.
Born in Vancouver, Ervin later lived in Kamloops before moving to Lethbridge, where he spent the rest of his days. Ervin left behind a profound void in the hearts of everyone who knew him, remembered above all as a father who loved his children and an exceptionally loyal friend who helped to anchor the lives of those he loved.
He possessed a caring, creative spirit, which shone through clearly in his passion for painting intricate models and miniatures and his lifelong fascination with military history. Ervin was a true enthusiast who could name almost any vehicle, gun, boat, or plane from history, bringing a quiet joy and incredible knowledge to his favorite hobby. His love of painting miniatures brought many friends into the fold and started many down a path of a lifelong hobby.
As a dad, he was a constant source of strength and pride for his children, leaving a lasting legacy with his oldest and only son, Jacob, and his youngest and only daughter, Lauren. To his friends, Ervin was the reliable confidant you could always gossip with, bringing genuine warmth and humor to every conversation. Ervin’s presence, creativity, and companionship will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on through the beautiful pieces he created and the family and friends who loved him so dearly.
A Celebration of Ervin’s Life will be held at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011 15 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Dwayne Dibben officiating.
