It is with deepest sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beautiful LINNEA “NEAA” BROOKE WHITE QUILLS, beloved mother of Jordyn, Delonte, Kyrie, Maizie, and Silver. Neaa was called home on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the age of 31 to reunite with her sister Kieran and nephew Kingsley.
Linnea was born December 15, 1991 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Lorilee White Quills and Emery Three Persons, where she resided until her passing. She leaves to mourn her maternal siblings: Rylan James Twigg and Kaydence White Quills; her paternal siblings: Colton, Joel, Royce, Creedon, Kadin, Jovan, Koa Bane, Nikolas, Freddyboy, Skylar, Zoey, and Astrid Three Persons, her “Grams”, Vivian White Quills, grandfather, Darryl (Mary) Little Bear, aunts; Delaine, DJ, Deidre White Quills, Maya Little Bear, Natalie and Pam White Quills, Tana Knife and Tyra Knife-Twigg, her special muncle, Steve Frank, uncles, Waylon Little Bear, Cory White Quills, Darryl (Linda), Wendell (Karen), and Sheldon Three Persons; great-aunts; Peggy and Vera White Quills, Tammy (Ed) White Quills – Knife; and great-uncles; Boyce (Lucille) and Kirk (Lorna) White Quills; nieces and nephews: Raegan White Quills, Kaleb Frank, Taylor Frank and Mya and Maverick Day Chief.
Linnea started her education at the age of three; she was one of the pioneers of the first HeadStart program held in Lethbridge along with her aunts, DJ and Deidre. She then attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and moved with her mother to Calgary and attended school there for a short period. Linnea moved back to Lethbridge to live with her “Grams”, and went a few semesters to Catholic Central High School before Linnea became a mother and homemaker.
Linnea was the eldest of four children; she was petite but feisty, fearless, and protective of the people that were close to her heart. Linnea loved to sing and had a beautiful voice but was shy to stand up in front of a crowd. She also loved to color and draw pictures. Linnea was very close to her “Grams” and they shared intimate moments together. She always giving her “Grams” presents for her holidays and Christmas. They had a “spirit bond”. She also had a special bond as the first born with her mother Lorilee, whom she went to for love, advice, and financial support. She was very protective of her brother Rylan in her role as big sister. Linnea kept in touch with her father Emery and they had a close relationship.
Linnea started having children at a very young age and loved them dearly. She was a good mother and adored her children with all her heart, and called them her “tribe”. Jordyn, her first born, was doted on by Linnea; she would dress up in matching clothes as often as she could, fix Jordyn’s hair, and treat her like a baby doll. When her boys, Delonte and Kyrie, came along, followed by Maizie, Linnea ensured her kids were well taken care of and her tribe would dress up, if not matching, in a similar theme. The saddest day was when they took her children away. She never recovered and fell into her addictions which eventually took her life.
Linnea was making plans with her sister Kieran to start a positive journey of recovery. They were making plans to attend treatment but that never came to be as she lost her little sister Kieran six weeks prior. Linnea was devastated but vowed to follow through with their plans. Sadly, Linnea left to be with her sister so they can continue their journey together.
Linnea was predeceased by sister Kieran Plain Eagle; nephew Kingley Shouting; brother Gilbert Big Sorrel Horse; uncle Delbert Young Pine, grandmother Annie Teresa Young Pine; grandfather Jesse Three Persons; great-grandparents Olive and Eugene Sr. White Quills; and great-uncle Robert White Quills.
Linnea comes from a big family which includes the White Quills, Creighton, Crop Eared Wolf, Many Fingers, Little Bears, Young Pine and Three Person families.
The family apologizes for anyone who may have been missed.
In memory of Linnea, everyone is an Honourary Pallbearer.
