White Quills, Nikii Lea

Heaven gained another angel on Jan 23, 2022. Nikii Lea White Quills passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at the tender age of 48 years at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
Nikii was born on November 1, 1973 to her mother Donna White Quills at the Cardston Hospital. She leaves behind her children Brittany (Lane), Sacha Lace, Sherise and her only son Dylan; grandchildren Colten, Bevin, Shiloh, Grayce-Roze and Parker; sisters Andrienne (Horton), Chantal (Trace), Krystal and Leslee (JR); brothers Kim SF and Joe PB; aunties Karen, Charlotte (Casey) and her auntie who she took like a mom, Jennifer WH; great Aunties Sadie WW, Bernadette YP and Delores WQ; uncles Desmond (Robin) and Ian (Gina); great Uncle Lucis (Pam) WW and Vincent WQ; godson Patrick WH; her very special friend in her life Colin V, who she loved to cruise and get slurpees with, while in her housecoat. Colin was the only one that had the patience to bring Nikii shopping, as she would take hours in a store and he never ever rushed her.
Nikii loved all her nieces, nephews, and grand nephews and nieces with all her heart. She was happy to see the new babies and was excited to hear about the new additions to the family. She loved Freda and was often found sleeping on the couch holding her. She was really excited to hear about the upcoming wedding and said “that’s going to be an awesome wedding.” At a young age, Nikii went to live with her aunt Bunny in Edmonton. Her older sister, Krystal, took very good care of her during this time. Nikii was a very naughty child and would stick her tongue out at strangers on the bus. Bunny’s curtains where different lengths because Nikii would cut them when she found scissors. She then moved on to cut hair, so they had to hide all the scissors. Her daughter Sherise took after her in this area. Nikii moved back down to Cardston when she was 3 and lived with her mom and grandpa Maurice. Grandpa Maurice had nicknames for all the girls, and he would call her juice. Nikii attended school at Cardston and Lethbridge School District. She loved to hang out with her friends more than going to school. She was often caught downtown instead of school by her mom. Nikii enjoyed her drinks and heavy metal concerts and music. After her first grandchild was born, her life revolved around all her grandchildren. At the time of her passing she resided with her mother and was helping her raise her grandchildren, especially her girl Bevin, whom she did everything for. She was blessed to have been in the delivery room watching her first granddaughter being born. Since then, she and Bevin have been inseparable. She also loved animals, especially cats, and would feed all of them in the neighborhood. When she walked next door to visit her sister all the cats would follow her and wait for her until she went back home. She would just laugh and say, “Too cheap these cats just followed me” The cats will really miss her. Nikii did not go out much later on in life, but she was always on the phone with her son Dylan and sister Leslee. She was a deeply religious person with a kind heart. The word Kimmapiiyiipiitsi (empathetic) comes to mind to describe Nikii Lea, as we remember her and try to come to terms with losing a beautiful soul too soon. Kitsiikaakoimohpinnaan. (we love you) She was very considerate and gracious to those that crossed her path. The best poem to describe her would be “Stop to Smell the Roses,” especially since she loved red roses. Kiitaakiitamatssine (See you again)
She is predeceased by her grandparents Maurice WQ and Harvena WW. Brother Curtis SF and sister Norma SF. Aunties Wendy MB and Vivian WQ. Uncles Leonard WQ, Steven WQ and David WH.
Extended family includes White Quills, Wadsworth, Tailfeathers, Wolf Child, Wells, Small Face, and Brave Rock.
Do not cry that she is gone but celebrate because you have known her.
Thank you to the Lethbridge ICU Drs and Nurse for the care they gave to Nikii. Their care and compassion did not go unnoticed.
