Woman airlifted to Calgary after Lethbridge-area collision

NEAR LETHBRIDGE – RCMP have called in a collision reconstructionist from Calgary to investigate a serious two-vehicle crash southeast of Lethbridge Sunday, June 24.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. on Highway 845 just south of Highway 4. Coaldale RCMP said it appeared to be a head-on crash involving a Chevrolet Malibu and a Chrysler Pacifica.

A woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance to Calgary with what were described as critical head injuries. The two drivers were taken to hospital, but their injuries were not believed to be serious.

Highway 845 was closed for several hours while investigators remained on the scene.
