New police chief named for Blood Tribe
STANDOFF, AB – The Blood Tribe Police Commission has named a new police chief.
Miiskiimisokasimi, Brice Iron Shirt, will be sworn in as the Blood Tribe Police Service’s new chief at the multi-purpose building in Standoff on January 4.
Iron Shirt brings 19 years of policing experience to the table, which includes RCMP DEPOT Academy and Lethbridge/Medicine Hat/Taber Police Academy training, working within provincial policing standards, writing Blood Tribe Police policies and procedures, creating performance measures, helping create provincial statutes, along with work as a school resource officer, police training instructor and helped to develop First Nations Security Officer programs in Saskatchewan.
