Snowfall warning issued for Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek

PINCHER CREEK, AB – Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for a small portion of Southern Alberta.

According to the agency, heavy snow mixed with rain will continue through the afternoon on April 19, 2023, and taper off overnight with snowfall totaling 10 to 20 cm.

The heaviest snow is anticipated to fall along the foothills and over areas of higher terrain.

The snowfall warning is impacting areas in the municipal district of Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass including Coleman and Frank, the Piikani Reserve, and Water Lake National Park.

Roads may see less snow accumulation as pavement temperatures remain above zero degrees, but people are asked to adjust their driving with changing conditions.

Visibility may be limited at times in heavy snow.
