Boy Struck By Vehicle Near Winston Churchill High School

LETHBRIDGE: A 12 year old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning.

The incident occured aroun 7:30 a.m at 20 Street and 18 Avenue North near Winston Churchhill High School.

The boy is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, including broken bones..

A 56-year old has been charged with one count of failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Steven Melvin Supina of Lethbridge, is scheduled to make a court appearance on March 24.

Police have determined that alcohol was a factor, however, there was not enough evidence to support an impaired driving charge.
