SPCA says flock of abandoned ducklings need new homes in Metro Vancouver

Nov 25, 2016 | 10:15 AM

ALDERGROVE, B.C. — A mystery involving nearly 200 ducklings is unfolding in the community of Aldergrove, B.C.

The young ducks were found in several crates along the side of a road about 60 kilometres southeast of Vancouver.

The birds, estimated to be about two weeks old when they were found on Nov. 11, are thriving at a nearby foster farm.

B.C. SPCA officials say it’s unclear whether the ducklings were dumped or if the crates fell from a vehicle.

An owner has not come forward.

The SPCA is now searching for farms that could offer homes to some or all of the 194 ducklings. (Global)
