Special hardware handed out during local 2016 Building the Best Awards

LETHBRIDGE –  More than 400 business owners, employees and elected officials were at the Coast Hotel Conference Centre on Friday night to honour local home builders.  The event was the 18th annual Canadian Home Builders Association Building the Best Awards of Excellence.

The evening included the presence of Provincial and National Association Presidents.

Angela Cornforth, CHBA Lethbridge Region President commented, “Even though our Province is struggling in many areas, the overwhelming contributions from this industry here in Lethbridge continues to amaze me.” Cornforth went on to remark, “The innovation and attention to customer service, safety and community engagement is well worth celebrating.”

Among the award categories were new home designs, community development, safety, energy efficiency, renovations, and marketing, as well as best trade and supplier.

Complex criteria for each award ensures the highest standards are recognized, with industry professionals from across the country evaluating entries to determine the winners.

The best new home sales person was awarded to Kyle Wurzer of Avonlea Homes, while Marketing awards were presented to Ashcroft Master Builder, Daytona Homes and 4 seasons Home Comfort. 

As well, the Best Trade category went to Lethbridge Basement, while All Weather Windows won the title for Best Supplier.

The Builder of the Year accolade was bestowed upon Avonlea Homes.
