RCMP search for youths accused of brutal assault at Elk Island Ranch
LETHBRIDGE – RCMP in Fort Saskatchewan are asking for the public’s help to find two residents of the Elk Island Youth Ranch who they belived seriously assaulted a female staff worker, then fled in a stolen truck.
Police say the incident happened last night (February 4th) just after 11pm. At 1:15am this morning (February 5th), emergency responders were called and the worker was transported by STARS air ambulance to a hospital in Edmonton.
The two suspects can’t be named according to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both are only identified as Caucasian, 14 and 15 years of age and between 5’2 and 5’5 feet tall.
RCMP Corporal Mike McCreedy says the two left the ranch in a Grey 2000 Chevy Silverado two -door truck with the license plat B-F-J-5-5-9-7. The truck is run down, and has a distinctive new driver’s side door.
It’s unknown where the two have gone.
McCreedy warns against anyone approaching the boys or the truck. It’s not known if the suspects may be armed.
Anyone who sees the boys, or the truck, is asked to contact RCMP immediately.
