LETHBRIDGE – A Raymond high school teacher has been charged with sexual exploitation.

In a statement on the Westwind School Division website, they acknowledge that Jentry Jack Salmon was suspended in October of 2016 when they became aware of the allegations — pending charges being laid by the RCMP and the outcome of any legal proceedings.

They noted that they started an internal investigation, but have suspended it to protect the integrity of the one launched by police.

Raymond RCMP say they were informed that a teacher was having inappropriate interactions via text messages and conduct outside the school environment with a Raymond High School student.

Sentry was then charged on Feb. 17, 2017, with two counts of sexual exploitation and made his first court appearance on Tuesday (Mar. 14).

Salmon is listed on the Raymond High School’s website as being a teacher and coach of the girl’s basketball team.
