Mar 25, 2018 | 9:09 AM

LETHBRIDGE – To facilitate improvements at the intersection of University Drive, Walsh Drive and Heritage Boulevard, there will be series of partial lane closures today.

There will be temporary lane closures in the westbound lane of Walsh Drive and in the eastbound lane of Heritage Boulevard for short durations while work is completed.

The road is expected to reopen by mid-afternoon.

The city advises drivers to consider alternate routes to access businesses to the northeast and to the west of this intersection.

Crews will be installing street lights on top of the existing traffic signal poles in the first stage of this project.

Additional lane closures will be required until mid-July to finish this work, including changes to curb lines, the addition of new lanes, new traffic signals and streetlights and the reconstruction of Walsh Drive from Argyll Road West to University Drive.
