Kyle Melting Tallow named Blood Tribe Chief of Police
STANDOFF – The Blood Tribe Police Commission has hired Kyle Melting Tallow as the Chief of Police for the Blood Tribe Police Service.
Melting Tallow had been the acting Chief of Police for the past two years, and after a lengthy and thorough process, he was chosen as the successful candidate to assume the role of Chief of Police.
He began his career in 1998 with the Siksika Police Service, spent four years with the TsuuTina Police Service until joining Blood Tribe Police Service in 2006 as a Constable. Melting Tallow was promoted to Senior Constable in 2007, Sergeant in 2008, Staff Sergeant in 2012, Inspector in 2014 and Deputy Chief in early 2016.
He’s the first member to ever rise through the ranks of BTPS, as historically, the service has had Chiefs of Police who have spent the majority of their careers in other areas.
