MONARCH – Work is expected to wrap up in mid-September on a new reservoir and pump system in Monarch.
Crews have finished the above-ground tank. A truck fill station is also being built, at a location that will take heavy trucks and water haulers off roads within the hamlet. The completed system will provide high-quality drinking water to residents of Monarch and the surrounding area of Lethbridge County.
The system will also provide better capacity for fires and emergency situations. The county hopes the new water system will lead to future development in Monarch.
The project is being funded in part by the Government of Canada Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.
