Lethbridge Hurricanes sign three new players

LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed defenseman Joe Arntsen and forwards Jett Jones and Nick Dorrington to standard WHL player agreements.

15-year-old Arntsen is originally from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and was drafted by the Hurricanes 35th overall in the 2018 Bantam Draft. He played in 31 games last year with the Swift Current Raiders Bantam AA and had 50 points to go along with 32 penalty minutes.

16-year-old Jones, who is from Olds, Alberta, was undrafted and listed by the ‘Canes last year. He spent the 2017-18 season with the Airdrie CRF Bison and played in 33 games, getting 22 points and 10 penalty minutes. He also represented Team Central at the 2017 Alberta Cup.

And 16-year-old Dorrington was also undrafted. A native of Langley, B.C., he spent last year with the Yale Hockey Academy E15s where he had 32 points and 30 penalty minutes.

The Hurricanes now have 37 players on their roster as they head into exhibition play.

Tickets for their first exhibition game on Friday, August 31, against the Medicine Hat Tigers are $10.
