Lethbridge woman receives jail time for robbery at London Road Market
LETHBRIDGE – The case centered around a robbery at London Road Market last summer has ended, as the second accused admitted to her role in the incident.
Constance Red Crow pleaded guilty to a single count of robbery while appearing in Lethbridge Provincial Court via CCTV Monday, Oct. 15 – nearly three months after her co-accused did the same thing.
The 26-year-old Lethbridge woman received an 11-month jail sentence, after the judge agreed with a joint submission presented by the Crown and defence. She was also given an enhanced credit for time spent in pre-trial custody, leaving just over six months on the jail term.
Through an agreed statement of facts that was presented to the court by Crown prosecutor Vaughn Hartigan, it was revealed that Red Crow entered the grocery store around 11:15 a.m. on July 17, took several items – including a glass bottle – and left without paying.
