Committee calls meeting to discuss Kootenay ICE ticket sales, rumoured departure
CRANBROOK, B.C. – A Cranbrook organization is calling a town hall meeting to encourage more support for the Kootenay ICE, amid a report the team is considering a move to Winnipeg.
The club is averaging around 2,350 in attendance through six home games this season which is among the WHL’s lowest numbers. The Green Bay Committee is aiming to sell 500 season tickets, which will be a focal point of their meeting and campaign launch.
The committee is calling on stakeholders, local politicians, executives from Tourism Cranbrook, the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association and other ICE supporters to attend.
The meeting is also meant to touch on a recent article from the Winnipeg Free Press which alludes to rumours that the team’s owners are considering relocating to Manitoba.
