RCMP investigating fatal collision in Okotoks

OKOTOKS, AB – Police are investigating a single-vehicle collision that resulted in a fatality this weekend.

According to a release from the Okotoks RCMP, police responded to the single-vehicle collision on Sunday, Feb. 17 at around 12:08 p.m. A vehicle struck a light standard on 32nd Street at North Railway in the Town of Okotoks.

A 61-year-old woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle. According to the release, the woman sustained severe injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Okotoks RCMP say the cause of the collision is not known, and is currently under investigation. The RCMP is asking any witnesses to come forward with information.
