Two Coaldale men charged in extensive graffiti mischief

COALDALE — Thanks to media releases and information from the public, RCMP have laid charges in a run of mischief in Coaldale last week that resulted in significant graffiti damage to numerous buildings.

Overnight on Tuesday, April 30, unknown attended various locations within Coaldale and tagged numerous areas with spray paint graffiti. Coaldale RCMP received complaints of graffiti at the Quads, the Coaldale Arena, the Senior Centre, St. Joseph’s school, and the Mennonite Church. The majority of the graffiti was tagged with the alias *ACE* and predominantly featured anti police ideology. Different spray paint colours were used.

At the time, Coaldale RCMP Staff Sergeant Glenn Henry stated, “There is no justification or reason why someone would deface our Coaldale facilities, schools or churches.“

Information from the public helped positively identify two grown men from Coaldale as suspects over the weekend.

Matthew Dubois-Parkins and Keegan Anderson, have been charged with five counts each of Mischief. Both are scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on June 12, 2019.
