Canadian Hockey League names first full-time President
TORONTO, ON – Dan MacKenzie has been named the first ever full-time President of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
The former National Basketball Association (NBA) executive will start in his new role with the CHL in September and will report to the CHL Executive Council.
The Council is comprised of the commissioners of the three member leagues that make up the CHL: David Branch of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), Gilles Courteau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and Ron Robison of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
According to a release from the WHL, MacKenzie will be responsible for “growing the game, along with enhancing the player and fan experience.”
