U of L and Lethbridge College Weekend Sports Preview: Sept. 27-29, 2019

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and the U Sports seasons are underway.

Both the Lethbridge College Kodiaks, who compete in the ACAC and the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns (U Sports – Canada West conference) have many teams in action this weekend.

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS

Coming off a 110-93 loss against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns last night (Sept. 26), the Kodiaks men’s basketball team faces Medicine Hat College at Magrath High School tonight.

Game time is 7:00 p.m.

The men’s volleyball team is at Medicine Hat College taking on St. Boniface (12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28) and the College of the Rockies (5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28). Following that double-bill, the Kodiaks will play Medicine Hat College at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.

On the soccer pitch, the women’s team faces Medicine Hat College at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. and Ambrose University at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.

The men’s soccer team plays Medicine Hat Saturday at 2:00 p.m., with a matchup against Ambrose at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

U OF L PRONGHORNS

The Pronghorns men’s basketball team is coming off a strong 110-93 victory over the Lethbridge College Kodiaks last night (Sept. 26). The ‘Horns faces the University of Calgary tomorrow, Sept. 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Cardston High School.

The women’s basketball team plays Acadia University this afternoon, Sept. 27 at 4:00 p.m. They’re on the East Coast for that game in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. The Coast swing continues into tomorrow, Sept. 28, for a game against the University of Prince Edward Island in Halifax, Nova Scotia (3:00 p.m.).

The action continues in Halifax on Sunday against Dalhousie University (10:30 a.m.)

The women’s hockey team faces the University of Calgary Dinos tonight, Sept. 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran Arena in Lethbridge. They follow that up with a Saturday night matchup in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan against the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (7:00 p.m.).

The men’s hockey team faces the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg both tomorrow, Sept. 28 (7:00 p.m.) and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The men’s soccer team plays the University of Saskatchewan tomorrow in Saskatoon at 3:00 p.m. The women’s team hosts MacEwan University tomorrow (12:00 p.m.) and the University of Alberta Pandas on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.

The women’s rugby team plays the University of Victoria tonight at 5:00 p.m. on Vancouver Island. Their B.C. trip continues on Sunday in a 1:00 p.m. game against the UBC Thunderbirds.

The golf team hosts the U of L Invitational at the Lethbridge Country Club tomorrow, Sept. 28 and Sunday. The event is still scheduled to run, despite winter-like weather conditions in the forecast.
