LETHBRIDGE, AB – Talk about making a statement return.

Dylan Cozens, drafted by the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres last June, was reassigned to the Lethbridge Hurricanes just last week and he’s already racked up an award.

The forward has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending September 29, 2019. In just two games, he recorded six points (3 goals, 3 assists) and a plus-two rating in the weekend split for the Lethbridge team.

On Friday (Sept. 27), in his return to the Hurricanes, Cozens scored the game’s opening goal against the Red Deer Rebels. He also dished out an assist on the team’s second goal in the 5-2 loss.

Even with the L, Cozens was named the second star of the game.

On Sunday (Sept. 29), he posted a pair of goals in Edmonton against the Oil Kings en route to a 5-2 victory in the provincial capital. Cozens also sent out two assists and was named the first star of the game and the second star of the night across the WHL.

The Hurricanes start a two-game home stand Wednesday, Oct. 2 when they host the Saskatoon Blades. Game time at the ENMAX Centre is 7:00 p.m.
