Lethbridge Police Investigate third child abduction attempt on west side

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police are investigating what they say is a third child abduction attempt in recent weeks.

This time, police say around 4:30 Monday afternoon (Oct. 21), they responded to a home on Mount Sunburst Place West near Sunridge Park, after a nine-year-old boy reported that a man followed him in an alley and grabbed him by the hand.

The boy pulled away and ran home. Police searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect, who was wearing a black hoody, black pants and may have had a skull tattoo on his left arm.

On Oct. 15, police also reported two child abduction attempts on the same road, after a after a seven-year-old girl also reported a man tried to grab her through the fence of a home.

As police were investigating at that time, they learned the seven-year-old had previously said that a man had chased her and attempted to grab her by the arm as she was walking home from school on Oct. 9, 2019. The Oct. 9 incident was not reported to police at the time.

The man in that incident is described as a Caucasian male, with dark hair, a thin build, a tattoo on his right wrist and a gold ring with a diamond on this right hand. He was wearing a black hoody, dark pants and black dress shoes.
