Glendon man charged in murder of Nobleford man and a man from Bonnyville

GLENDON, AB. — There has been an arrest and charges in relation to the death of 39-year old Jacob Sansom of Nobleford, and his uncle, 57-year old Maurice Cardinal of Bonnyville, Alta.

It is alleged that at approximately 9:30 p.m., on March 27, two vehicles came to a stop on a rural road near Glendon, north-east of Edmonton.

A verbal and then physical confrontation ensued with the occupants of the two vehicles. A third vehicle arrived on the scene and several shots were fired by the accused which resulted in the death of the victims.

On March 28, at about 4 a.m., Bonnyville RCMP responded to a call from a citizen who reported two deceased men on the road outside of a parked truck.

Autopsies were completed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the deaths were deemed as homicide.

Further investigation led police to the accused, who turned himself into the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he was arrested and charges were laid.

Anthony Bilodeau, aged 31, of Glendon, faces two charges of second degree murder. He was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and is set to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on April 9, 2020.
