Community Futures Network of Alberta to offer free Succession matching and planning workshop
LETHBRIDGE, AB. — A need for succession planning and education resources within rural business communities, prompted eight Community Futures offices in southern Alberta develop a Succession Matching and Planning (SMP) Project.
It all stems from the increasing number of clients who have approached the eight offices, asking about help with the sale of their business or its transition to a family member.Smaller communities in the region have businesses they choose to shut down, which could impact an entire community. In many cases, business owners are unaware of their options or unsure about how to go about selling their business.
The eight offices have partnered with Succession Matching, the Alberta Business Family Institute, and Commercial Ventures, for a series of workshops and masterclasses over the next twenty-one months.
It all begins with “Selling Your Business – Expert Panel”; a virtual discussion on July 14th.
