Two recycling employees in Lethbridge pricked by needles
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge says it is doing everything it can to support two employees at the Waste and Recycling Centre who were recently pricked by discarded syringes.
Manager Steve Rozee says one incident happened within the last two weeks while the other was a short amount of time before that.
He explains that they both worked in the sorting line at the point where staff have to pick out any dangerous or hazardous materials.
“This staff was reaching to grab a black bag and didn’t know what was in it. There were, unfortunately, sharps in there and they went through the bag and the protective glove and through their skin,” Rozee said of the more recent case.
