COVID-19 outbreak declared at church in Coaldale

COALDALE, AB – Alberta Health Services has confirmed 15 cases of COVID-19 that have been linked to a local church.

They have declared an outbreak at Revival of Canada (ROC) Christian Ministries.

A spokesperson with Alberta Health says all 15 cases are currently active.

The Town of Coaldale issued a brief statement, saying, “there have been outbreaks in neighbouring communities, including Lethbridge and Lethbridge County, serving as a reminder that COVID-19 still presents a risk in our community.”

Coaldale is one of several communities that are part of Lethbridge County. In Friday’s COVID-19 update, the County now has 40 active infections.

The Town is reminding residents about precautions to take including practicing physical distancing, wearing a mask when distancing is not possible, practicing good hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes, and self-isolating if symptoms of COVID-19 appear.
