Lethbridge Transit routes could be impacted by staffing challenges

Oct 28, 2020 | 12:02 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Transit riders in Lethbridge are being advised that certain routes may be modified in the coming weeks.

The City of Lethbridge says they have experienced a shortage of bus drivers lately due to long-term and short-term illnesses, retirements, and other factors.

There are no positive cases of COVID-19 within Lethbridge Transit employees.

Hiring additional drivers could be a challenge for the time being given the drop in ridership caused by the COVID-19 shutdowns and the lack of post-secondary students in the city this term.

Passengers are encouraged to download the MyRide mobile app or visit the city’s transit website for real-time route updates.

Through the app, users can sign up for push notifications and receive information about any changes that might impact their route.

Residents can also phone Lethbridge 311 during business hours to answer any questions or to get help.
