Alberta Sheriffs shut down Lethbridge drug house

Nov 5, 2020 | 2:14 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB– The Lethbridge Crime Suppression Team(CST) and the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) unit have shut down a drug house in North Lethbridge.

The house will be closed for 90 days effective immediately after the community safety order granted in Court of Queen’s Bench gave sheriffs the authority to board it up, change the locks, and put a fence around the property.

No entry is permitted until Feb. 1, 2021, and until further investigation is complete.

Inspector Mike Letourneau says people in the house were producing drugs being sold in and around the property.

After over a year-long investigation, the house on 71 Stafford Road North has been boarded up, and investigators observing the house say there were more than 150 visits to the property in just over a four-day period.

In the first half of 2020, multiple LPS traffic stops of individuals leaving the property turned up significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illegal substances.

SCAN continues to investigate while the property remains under supervision until Oct. 14, 2021.
