Break-in results in severe damages at Honkers Pub

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Honkers Pub & Eatery in Lethbridge suffered serious damages early Sunday morning following a drive-thru break-in.

The pub stated on social media that a vehicle drove through the restaurant’s front entrance, smashing glass and stealing items in the process.

Lethbridge Police are investigating, and said the owner was alerted to an alarm at around 6 a.m. LPS confirmed that a small truck had purposefully driven through the restaurant’s front.

“Since there are pictures floating around I will clarify. YES we had a Break In this morning at the Pub. YES, a truck drove thru to steal and was successful, YES there are a lot of damages, YES Police are on it. YES we have footage thanks to Pinnacle Security,” a representative from the pub stated on Facebook.

The good news, however, is no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Lethbridge Police reported that two people exited the truck that smashed through the pub’s entrance, stole an ATM inside and then drove away from the scene.

Honkers Pub staff noted it’s been a difficult week for the restaurant amid new COVID-19 restrictions announced by the province last Tuesday.

The pub is thanking the community for its immediate support following the break-in.

“We will get [through] this together as we have huge community support,” read the Facebook post.

“THANKS for all the offers to clean up.”
