Addison, a former Hurricanes alternate captain, was originally drafted 53rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2018 NHL Draft. A trade in 2020 sent him to Minnesota.

The Brandon, Manitoba-born 20-year-old played his entire Western Hockey League (WHL) career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

He played 252 regular season games with the ‘Canes between 2016 and 2020. The defenceman racked up 215 points (41 goals, 174 assists). In 39 playoff appearances for Lethbridge, Addison recorded 30 points (9 goals, 21 assists).

Additionally, Addison was part of Canada’s gold-medal winning team at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, along with then-Hurricanes teammate Dylan Cozens, who now plays for the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.
