267 new COVID cases in Alberta including 17 in Lethbridge

EDMONTON, AB. — Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Tuesday, covering statistics compiled over the previous 24 hours.

267 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 131,603. Of those, 4,516 cases are active while 125,234 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 25 people tested positive including 17 in Lethbridge. Active infections in the city and regionally remained relatively flat.

Since yesterday’s update, 10 Albertans died from COVID-19. To date, the virus has claimed the lives of 1,853 people.

Provincially, 326 patients are currently hospitalized including 51 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 6,335 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,369,128 tests conducted on 1,808,209 people in the province.

180,755 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta to date. Approximately 107,000 Albertans have received at least one dose, and among those, 73,000 have gotten two shots.

  • Edmonton Zone – 53,240 cases, 930 active
    • 96 in hospital, 17 in ICU
    • 956 deaths (five new)
  • Calgary Zone – 50,500 cases, 1,612 active
    • 123 in hospital, 16 in ICU
    • 571 deaths (two new)
  • North Zone – 11,415 cases, 875 active
    • 41 in hospital, one in ICU
    • 134 deaths (one new)
  • Central Zone – 9,958 cases, 745 active
    • 34 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 104 deaths
  • South Zone – 6,392 cases, 350 active
    • 32 in hospital, 10 in ICU
    • 88 deaths (two new)

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

  • Brooks – 1,363 cases (one new), one active, 14 deaths
  • Lethbridge – 2,036 cases (17 new), 212 active, 20 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 692 cases (two new), 48 active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 695 cases (seven new), 61 active, 16 deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 648 cases (eight new), 103 active, two deaths
  • Cardston County – 589 cases (two new), 71 active, 10 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 552 cases (one new), 21 active, 16 deaths (one new)
  • Lethbridge County – 538 cases (four new), 18 active, seven deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 337 cases, five active, six deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 215 cases, 16 active, four deaths
  • County of Warner – 162 cases, three active, two deaths
  • County of Newell – 158 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 145 cases, two active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 117 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 97 cases (one new), one active, four deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 24 cases, zero active, zero deaths
