$17,000 in drugs seized by LPS, two charged

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service has charged two individuals with multiple drug-related offences after they seized more than $17,000 in drugs.

LPS arrested the two after a short-term investigation on Sunday, May 2 in a vehicle parked in the 100-block of Purdue Court West. The vehicle had a stolen license plate attached.

Police seized 62.9 grams of methamphetamine and 18.6 grams of fentanyl, along with more than $12,000 in cash as the proceeds of crime.

Jyi Trotter, 41, of Lethbridge has a list of 10 charges including two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of trafficking in the proceeds of crime over $5,000. Trotter will remain in custody with a court appearance set for May 6, 2021.
