South Lethbridge garage fire ruled accidental

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A fire on the south side of Lethbridge has been deemed accidental.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential garage fire along the 2100 block of 10 Avenue South at around 1:50 p.m. on Monday, June 14. Three stations and 20 firefighters attended the scene and were able to quickly contain the blaze to the one garage.

Officials say the occupant suffered minor injuries and damage to the garage and a vehicle inside is estimated to be $40,000. A fire investigation has been completed and the incident has been determined to be accidental in nature.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is reminding all residents to ensure that combustible products stored inside and around buildings are kept to a minimum. During the summer, residents should also take extra care when using tools that create combustion.
