Government developing new label for made-in-Alberta food products

Agriculture and Forestry Alberta is developing a new label for farmers and processors to put on their products.
Minister Devin Dreeshen made the announcement Saturday morning, saying the label will help shoppers identify food made in Alberta.
This could be at the grocery store or a local farmers market, he said.
“Alberta is known as a place that produces safe, high-quality food,” said Dreeshen. “These days, people want to know where their food comes from, and this will make it a lot easier for them to choose food from Alberta. When you buy Alberta food, you are supporting another Alberta family. It keeps money in your community and in our province.”
