Building Brains games keeping education going for children during the summer
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A team out of the University of Lethbridge has developed a way to keep kids busy and mentally active over the summer.
Building Brains Together has made bags available for purchase through the university’s book store. The bags contain 10 games that can help build a child’s executive function skills and all supplies needed to play. They’re designed for preschool-aged kids to help them prepare for kindergarten.
Coordinator of Building Brains Together, Vicki Hazelwood, said, “we know that play builds those healthy brains and a strong foundation.”
“We want to see kids thrive and the game bags are a tool that we can get into families’ hands and equip them to play games that make a difference. We know through the research that these playful activities will help build executive function skills in children.”
