Survey out for continuation of Highway 3 twinning

Jul 14, 2021 | 8:23 AM

COALDALE, AB – The Highway 3 Twinning Development Association continues to advocate for the twinning of the major southern Alberta Highway.

They have a survey out now that asks residents of the corridor to submit feedback to help inform their work supporting the completion of twinning Highway 3 from the B.C border to Medicine Hat.

Last July, it was announced that Highway 3 east of Taber will be twinned, but the twinning will not reach Medicine Hat.

That stretch includes 46-kilometres of Highway 3 from Taber to Burdett.

The association’s president says the survey covers lobby efforts, three year plan, and work with B.C counterparts and other provinces.

Bill Chapman adds the association believes in the whole of the project and not just a small section.

“The fulfillment of our mandate is to see Highway 3 twinned from Medicine Hat right through to the B.C border. So our MLA’s are on side with us and we’re really grateful that they see this as an important piece of economic development and growth in Southern Alberta.”
